So who is smarter — cats or dogs?

In an effort to answer this questions that keeps dog and cat lovers in permanent debate,Vanderbilt University neuroscientist  Suzana Herculano-Houzel created what she calls a “brain soup” to count the neurons in the cerebral cortex of the brains of cats and dogs.

Her results shows that dogs have the most neurons though not the largest brain. Cat lovers are not really peturbed  because they know that cats are really smarter. The age-old saying says it all:

Dogs have masters and cats have staff…
