The Petzi is an app-controlled, WiFi connected remote pet treat dispenser and camera which allows you to treat your pet from wherever you are and works with any smart phone or tablet.
Our dog tester Moose allowed his Mom to set up the camera for Windy his feline friend and she reported that is was very easy to set up.
“There are very clear instructions to set up and operate the product. First you download the Petzi app on your smartphone and sign up on the app. It instructs you to connect to your wifi at home through the app, so have your wifi name and password handy. Once the app is installed and you are signed in, simply plug your Petzi Treat cam into an outlet. The long power cord allows you to place the treat cam close or far away from the outlet. Included in the box is a Velcro strap to secure your treat cam to something if you choose to do so.
“Once you plug the treat cam in, open the app and select your Petzi Treat Cam. The cam will turn on and you are set to see your pets while away. If you choose to, you can dispense treats through the app as well. Follow the instructions on how to remove the white cover of the cam and pour your choice of treats into the opening at the top of the cam. Note that treats need to be small and there is only once section that holds treats, so you can’t dispense different kinds of treats separately.
“Apart from dispensing treats, there are options to speak to your pet, sound an alarm through the cam, change your view from daytime vision to night vision, and an option to capture images. Petzi offers a community of other cam users so you can share pictures of your pets on an open forum if you choose to do so. To have easier access to my pictures, I usually just take a screen shot of my cat with my smartphone.
“So far it has brought lots of joy into my life because while I am away at work, or out of town, I can check in at home and give my little Windy girl some snacks.”
We decided to give the Petzi The Must Have Stamp of Approval along with suggestions from Windy’s Mom namely she said that instead of a fixed lens, it would be great if the camera could scan and also if the audio was two-way instead of currently only allowing you to speak to your pet but not hear sounds in return.
Like all tech products its important to note that their efficacy depends a lot on your wifi connection.
