November is synonymous with a variety of events. There’s Thanksgiving of course, the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving parade and then there’s the annual National Dog Show, a highlight on the annual dog show calendar and a popular televised event.
This year, on November 14 and 15, 2,000 of the top American Kennel Club sanctioned dogs from across the country representing more than 150 different breeds and varieties will once again compete for best of breed, first in group and, ultimately, the coveted title of Best in Show.
Every one has their own personal list of things to be thankful for. For me, I am always grateful to have my pets around me. When I moved to this country, I came with my family and three cats. The cats were the only constant from “a previous life” and were very instrumental in helping us all settle down and make this our new home.
There is no question that both dogs and cats are a lifeline for so many people. This year, in order to thank the four-legged friends who make our lives so special through November up until the Thanksgiving holiday, Purina is inviting dog owners to log on to Facebook, Twitter or Instagam and tell the world why they are so thankful for their dog.
