North Shore Animal League America is encouraging pet lovers to open their hearts and homes this holiday season and give the gift of life by adopting a rescue animal.
“Rather than spending thousands of dollars at a pet store, rescue an animal from a local shelter! It’s much more rewarding, plus you are saving a life,” said Joanne Yohannan, Senior Vice President of Operations. “The sad truth is when you buy an animal from a pet store you are essentially supporting puppy mills and inhumane commercial breeding facilities. There are thousands of rescue groups and shelters around the country with homeless animals just waiting for loving homes.”
The Animal League, which is the world’s largest no-kill rescue and adoption organization, will have HUNDREDS of puppies, kittens, dogs and cats up for adoption this holiday season. On Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24th all adoption fees will be waived from 9-11am for eligible adopters! What better way to step into the holiday’s than with a brand new addition to your family?
