It’s a fact that cats are the most popular companion animal in the world. They also rule the Internet, as there are guestimated 310 million cat videos and about 6.5 million cat photos out there, making cat lovers possibly the largest online community in the world. Pollsters say that we share more cat photos everyday than selfies!
That’s why I was thrilled to be asked to become one of the founding members of the Meow Mix Acatemy, a community of cat lovers that anyone can join to share heart-melting photos and moments with their favorite felines with other cat-minded people.
I have always considered my role in the pet world as one that allows me to engage with cat parents on a fun but also educational level so that I can share information that can improve our feline’s general health an well being and enhance that magical human-feline bond.

When I was invited to join, I was asked why I love cats. Well, my answer was simple but it was also complicated. I think cats are the best companions in the world. They are funny, curious, empathetic, independent (sometimes) and beautiful. At best, they can teach us a thing or two about grooming, sleeping and getting our own way. William Shakespeare referred to them in The Merchant of Venice as “necessary”. And I endorse that!
