The number of pets adopted during the pandemic topped all records. But which states led in the adoption race? Honest Paws, a company that produces CBD products for cats and dogs, went to work to do the research and produced data showing which states had the most adoptions per 100 000 people and how the numbers changed from the pre-pandemic figures.

Highest total pet adoptions from shelters of all 50 states in 2020.

#1 California – 256,739

#2 Texas – 219,173

#3 Florida – 203,385

According to the Denver Post, the day the Denver Animal Shelter re-opened, every dog available was adopted, with lines forming halfway around the building. Pet adoptions continue to be competitive in Colorado even in 2021.

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERACatnip, catmint, catswort, kitty crack or whatever you call the plant with the Latin name Nepeta Catania, one thing is certain; the essential oil it contains nepetalactone, has a powerful effect on felines revving up their play skills and prey drive by instantly turning snoozing couch potatoes into an ecstatic flipped out balls of fur. The catnip effect lasts about 10 minutes. It’s a great way to exercise your kitty!
